Deal and District Branch

We need your support:

Attendance at branch meetings has been dropping off, despite having some excellent speakers.  We are also finding it difficult to get enough support for trips to Kew and the FRC.  If local members do not support the branch it is in danger of collapsing.

Changes at the FRC: The facts and what it will mean to you

You may have read about proposals to move the FRC to the National Archives at Kew.  For details of the plans, please see the July Newsletter

New: Track down your Ancestors with Kent Libraries & Archives

Kent Libraries & Archives have taken up a subscription to the popular family history online product: Ancestry.com (Library Edition).  The service is supplied free in all of the 106 libraries and 3 archive centres in Kent.  Just enter the following website address in any of the internet-enabled public access computers in your local library:

If you live elsewhere in the UK, check if your local authority has subscribed to the service - many have.

If you are outside the UK, why not see if your local library can provide a similar service.
